If this was for my mean, I would choose CS, which is apart better from IT. Although, there is no such difference between CS & IT. Both are liable and demanded course. You need focus on to the aim of your goals. Priority, must be being with CS Where you learn about how to deal with the modulation of technology. In which you will be able to learn assemble and DE-CODE the programs. You could create your own soft. & programs according to the terms of demand. Not even programs but you will be able to how with the robotics warfare.

As many colleges doesn't have any branch named software engineering, they only have CS and IT branch and I prefer UCS branch as branch is much better than IT branch. But, it doesn't mean IT branch is not good. Both CS and IT have same core only a little difference.

This clearly signals that the difference between the two branches is not significant enough to warrant their simultaneous presence on a campus, at least in the eyes of the top engineering colleges of the country. And the colleges that do offer both IT and CSE, the differences in the course structure are minimal.
If you have to choose between IT and CSE and have both options in hand, it would be wise to decide it on the basis of the reputation and standing of the college rather than the branch. Top colleges to pursue CSE/IT a
