What is better among dropping a year without guarantee of passing CAT with flying colours or pursuing MBA from distinct and doing a job?

There is no guarantee in anything, so better prepare hard and try to give your best in CAT. Since there is time in CAT, now focus on the exam and later if you don't get good percentile, and because of any reason you feel that you will not be able to make up later on then only go for distant MBA. It all depends on yourself. a- Your confidence b- Expectations c- Risk taking appetite d- What returns you expect from an MBA program You can't say with guarantee that next year your performance will be great, but then you do understand how much you can get incremented if you drop.

It depends upon the level of confidence that you have in yourself. If you decide to take a drop, then submerge yourself totally in the preparation. I think you can give this a try.
