please refer to the specific institute you've checked it from. courses would differ from institute to institute. usually BFA would indicate an inclination towards art side of animation and may not focus on the 3D aspect (e.g. at NID). This would definitely place you at a distinct disadvantage later on. If you're creative, you can always consider going for Design and Animation. However, you must check your suitability for this field. Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Opportunities lie in animation design, game design, graphics, storyboarding, 3d modelling, texturing and lighting, Dynamics and VFX and of course animation. However, choosing between these must be done after seeing your performance in each of these. Typically you should have good sketching skills to be able to make a sound career in this (if you work hard you can improve your drawing skills tremendously). Nothing but your innermost talent and passion should lead you to the course and the institute you choose. Go speak to people over there and see if you like their philosophy and they change your perspective.Try their website for more details. Also remember that Animation requires good mentoring.
