The US-based CFA Institute, formerly the Association for Investment Management and Research, or AIMR, offers postgraduate professional certification to investment and financial professionals worldwide through the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program. The program offers a generalist understanding of various areas of finance in addition to teaching a wide range of subjects related to advanced investment analysis, such as business analysis, statistics, probability theory, fixed income, derivatives, economics, financial analysis, corporate finance, alternative investments, and portfolio management.
