What is D.Ed? I have done Diploma in E&C after 12th. Am I eligible for D.Ed?

Dear aspirant, Glad to meet you. D. EL. Ed Course is a 2 years Diploma degree programme. Diploma in Elementary Education programme aims at preparing the enrolled candidates to work in primary/ upper primary schools, that means classes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. The candidates after completing the programme can apply for a job as teachers teaching at the primary level in schools. The programme is of total 4 semesters that includes classroom course mixed with practical training and internships. The training is aimed at education practice and the role of teachers in grooming the students. It also aims at training the candidates towards child development. D. El. Ed eligibility is that candidates who have completed their 10+2 or equivalent exam with a minimum average aggregate of 50% are eligible to apply for admission at the D. El. Ed colleges. D. El. Ed NIOS is also an option for untrained teachers working in different parts of the country. Hope it helps.

D.Ed is a Diploma certificate teacher training programme. D.Ed Course can be pursued by students who have passed 10+2 (any stream) from a recognised board. The course has been designed to improve the elementary level teacher workforce in India.
