What is early action deadline in universities in USA? Stanford's early action deadline is November 1st, what does it mean?

My SAT is on October 1, 2016 and after that, I'll give TOEFL. Will I be able to apply to Stanford university for early action?

Hi Sakshi, Early Action as the name suggests, you will be notified of the decisions in a month. Regular and non early action rounds take longer.
