Hi, The criteria for admission to engineering college is, one must have an aggregate of 50% in PCM in 12th.

You need to pass Class 12th with minimum 60% marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. :)

50% for the pvt.universities for general category. and 45% for sc/st/obc/

I think first division(60%) is the eligibility criteria to pursue B.Tech in good college.

The only criteria to pursue btech is candidate must have PCM in 12th class.Everything else depends upon where you want to take admission.
Few Colleges give preference to -
1) Certain Minimum Percentage in 12th standard
2)Entrance examination
3) Also quota is applicable in case of private universi
