What is important while considering Indian University for doing Phd. 1) Its reputation or 2) Its location (as the topic is concerned)
I am Student of Msc Geography want to do Phd in Geography . I am a bit confused about choosing the University. I have selected some most reputated and others which are feasible but not reputated like them.
So Whats more important Its REPUTATION or its LOCATION (which is feasible for my Phd topic)

Reputation counts a lot, initially, as the quality of your research is also important. If you have a specific problem, you can think of nearness.

If you are planning to do a Ph.d. in India, I would suggest that you go by faculty you would be working with rather than the ranking/ reputation.
