Dear Arpit, Being alumni of LPU, I can share details of the BTech programme at LPU. My cousin did Civil Engineering there, so I am sharing details with you. So, following are the highlights of Civil Engg in LPU: - 1. Most of the faculty staff are from reputed organizations with their highest degree from various reputed institutes such as IITs, NITs, etc. Apart from that, faculty have got previous industrial experience also. 2. The capstone project is an integral part of B. Tech program in which students have to pick a live project based on the practical problem-based scenario (ideally from industry) and work for six months under a mentor and present a report at the end. This is beneficial to enhance your presentation skills. 3. There is an internship program which could be an opportunity for getting work experience and increase your chance to get employment after you pass out. But, of course, your academic record should be good to get this placement option. 4. Industrial visits are organized to nearby construction sites from time to time. There, you can see actual construction work going on. Be prepared to have dust on your shoes (believe me, it will be worth a lot). You have to ask questions yourself and trigger interest in the activities around you. 5. You will get some courses from soft skills, English language, mental and analytical aptitude side. This sounds dull to you as of now. But you will feel its importance when you face an interview panel in a company during your placement drives. 6. Fee for B.Tech programme is Rs. 98,000 per semester. # You will be very fortunate to study in LPU which has clinched the position among top 80 best Institutions of the country. Where placements are not a t all a problem. Be relaxed for the career ahead, because LPU provide ample of opportunities to get decent job during the final year of the degree by bringing more than 700 industry giants for recruitments. # Many LPU students are already working in Silicon valley.
