MPhil is an advanced postgraduate research degree. MPhil is a lesser qualification thanPhD in which the student is expected to master a specific area in their subject and can be completed in two years' full-time study. The MPhil dissertation is normally shorter than the PhD thesis. In some of the universities M Phil is the prerequisite degree for PhD. Lot of students continue research of their MPhil thesis and complete their Phd easily. M Phil is a stepping stone for teaching and research career.
