what is meant by round off by signifigant figures

With regard to round off, there can be Ceil off and Floor off. For example 15.5 can be floored off to 15 and ceiled off to 16. Meanwhile, 15.567 can be rounded off to 15.57 and 15.562 can be rounded off to 15.56 to two decimal digits. Hope you understand ......
