A very good question indeed. In the hierarchy of colleges, IITs are followed by NITs and IIITs. This is not rigid but based on the experience of past many years. As one can expect, some students of CS/IT branches can expect astronomical salaries but then these are to be treated as exceptions. As per the recent figures released by IIT Mumbai, average package of students placed so far was declared as 11 LPA. Considering this, it is safe to assume that minimum package must be around 7-8 LPA. Students from NITs too get similar packages and maybe a bit lower in range of 5-7LPA. IIITs have managed to get average packages of 5 LPA, but here t

Especially for a Bachelor's course, I personally don't really think this is a good sign.
The maximum pay package offered to students this year was 21 lakh per annum and the minimum - 7 lakh per annum.
An average of 10 to 15 lakh per annum is usually the package but th

Frankly, there is a lot of variance between the salary offered by companies among various sectors. Finance companies take the top spot in remuneration amount which can be an upward of Rs 12 lakhs per annum average. Such companies which include Goldman Sachs, Tower Research Capital, World Quant, each offering over Rs 20 lakhs per annum gross packages. Tech companies taking in computer science students also dole out huge salary packages typically in the range Rs 10 to Rs 20 lakhs per annum. Google, Facebook, Sony come under this category. Then come the consultancy firms which offer an average of Rs 11 to Rs 12 lakhs per annum (Booz, Bain
