Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET or Meghalaya TET) is conducted by the Directorate of Educational Research & Training (DERT) to determine the eligibility of candidates for the post of Class 1 to 8 teachers in the schools of the state. Candidates who plan to become lower primary (LP) school teachers (Classes 1 to 5) need to appear for MTET Paper 1 and those who plan to become upper primary (UP) school teachers (Classes 6 to 8) need to give MTET Paper 2. Candidates who wish to become teachers of Classes 1-8 need to appear for both papers.
