The two papers that make up the NDA written test are the General Ability Tests (GAT) and Mathematics. There are 120 questions on the maths paper and 150 questions on the GAT. There are 900 total marks available for the written exam. Those who pass the written exam are invited to the SSB interview. A SSB interview consists of two phases. Those who pass the Stage 1 exam are invited to take the Stage 2 exam. Picture Perception and Description exams (PP&DT) and Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) exams are part of Stage 1 of the SSB Interview. Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and the Conference form Stage 2.
