    Hi Sahith,
NET exam is conducted by UGC two times in a year. The exam is conducted to apply for lecturership in your field. It consists of two levels from two levels I mean there are two cut off scores given, one is for the eligibility of lecturership and second for eligibility for JRF and once you clear JRF then you are eligible to apply for fellowship that is you can pursue PH.D in which field you gave your NET exam. You are eligible for this once you complete your post graduation. You can get detailed information from UGC NET site.
    Good luck.
