What is PGCM? Is it equivalent to PGDM?

PGDBM, PGDM, PGPM, PGCM are Post Graduate Diploma in different field like business management, computer management etc. The difference between MBA and Post Graduate Diploma is: 1) MBA is a degree course, while other is a diploma course. 2) MBA degree is provided by only those institutes that are affiliated to any university and follow an academic curriculum as prescribed by the university. 3) Post Graduate Diploma courses are offered by private B-Schools that are not affiliated to any University like IIM's, XLRI, IIFT, and SP Jain. These institutes prepare their own syllabus, and they are no way dependent on the universities and enjoy full autonomy of their courses. Post Graduation programs in Business Management are MBA level programmes. All the autonomous institutes award Post Graduate Program certification and all the universities and university affiliated institutes award MBA degree after completion of the course.

pgcm refers to the post graduate certificate in management whereas pgdm accounts for post graduate diploma in management . one is the certificate course in management and the second one is diploma in management.
