What is PGDM course? How it is different from MBA?

Both are same. MBA is given by university affiliated colleges and PGDM/PGP by autonomous colleges.

Some basic differences are:
1. PGDM is a Diploma whereas MBA is a degree
2. PGDM certification is offered by the institute whereas MBA degree is offered by the University
3. Curriculum could be different as MBA is governed by stringent rules whereas in PGDM the institute has the flexibility to change the curriculum
4. MBA is more recognised compared to PGDM
5. Admissions in MBA are governed by merit list whereas in PGDM this may not be the case
6. The fees of PGDM is generally much higher than MBA. -
Yes, PGDM is equivalent to MBA. It is mainly industrial based as compared to MBA, which focuses more on theory part and it might be slightly costly than MBA, but it hardly makes any difference.
