Pre Sea is a short duration course for cadet who want to join the deck side. Pre Sea(DNS) basically stands for Diploma in Nautical Science and thus cadets pursuing a DNS course don't get a technical degree. After completing your 9months/1year course you need 18 months sea time just to get a B.Sc degree. Pursuing higher studies thus becomes difficult for the pre sea cadets. So, if you have made up your mind that all you need to do is sail till you retire then pre sea is good for you.
