For taking admission in Computer engineering the eligibility criteria in LPU is Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Mathematics and English) or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPU NEST or In case student scored more than or equal to 90% in 10+2, or 90 percentile in JEE Mains, then LPU NEST will be exempted and candidate may apply for admission. Lately, number of admissions in CSE department have been increased rapidly and has become one of the popular courses among engineering aspirants. It focuses on the basic elements of computer programming and networking. I am not so aware about Thapar. I would suggest you to have a look over other options as well. Being an Alumni of LPU, I would suggest you to go for B.Tech CSE at LPU. B.Tech CSE at LPU is one ope the most sought after programme. A student who has completed his/her 10+2 education with minimum 60% aggregate marks and is from the Science and maths background can take up a Diploma course in engineering which is of one year and then can directly take admission to the B.Tech after Diploma.
