SBI Clerk selection process comprises prelims exam and Mains exam. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not counted for the final merit list. It serves as the screening test for Mains exam. The prelims exam comprises three sections-English, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. The total marks allotted to the test are 100. The Mains exam comprises four sections-General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. The total marks allotted to the Mains exam are 200.

The Preliminary and Mains Exams, as well as a Local Language Test, are the two primary steps in the selection process for the SBI Clerk post, commonly known as the Junior Associate function. Candidates must answer 100 multiple-choice questions in three different sections of the preliminary exam: reasoning ability, numerical ability, and English language. Each incorrect response results in a 0.25-mark penalty during the 60-minute exam.
