Christian Medical College is a Christian minority institute which is unaided and was established in 1918. Christian Medical College Vellore is approved by MCI (Medical Council of India), accredited by NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers), and has an attached 2,500 bedded hospital. Some of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses are accredited by AERB (Atomic Energy Regulatory Board), India and the Microbiology laboratory is an NABL-accredited laboratory.
