    Candidates receive +2 points for each response that is accurate. On the objective paper, 0.5 marks are subtracted as a negative marking for each wrong response. The descriptive paper has no failing grades. There is no penalty for leaving a question blank.Two marks are given to the contestant for each right response. The mark is subtracted by 0.50 for each incorrect response. For each right response, the applicants can thus add two marks, while for each incorrect response, they can deduct 0.50 from their final score.     SSC CHSL marking scheme is prescribed by the examination authority, Staff Selection Commission (SSC). The CHSL marking scheme is different for each exam stage- Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3. The scores of candidates are calculated as per the marking scheme. SSC CHSL marking scheme is given below:
    Candidates are awarded +2 marks for each correct answer. For each incorrect answer, 0.5 marks are deducted as a negative marking in objective paper. There is no negative marking for the descriptive paper. If a question is left blank, there is no penalty.
