Subject-verb agreement means the verb in a sentence must match the subject in number. If the subject is singular, the verb should be singular. If the subject is plural, the verb should be plural.

Example:

  • He runs fast. (singular subject + singular verb)
  • They run fast. (plural subject + plural verb)
