Carnegie Mellon University's (CMU) acceptance rate for the Fall 2023 is 13.5%. This means that out of every 100 students who apply, only 13.5 are admitted. CMU is a highly selective university, and it is only possible to be admitted if you have a strong academic record, competitive standardized test scores, and strong essays and letters of recommendation.

Here are the acceptance rates for CMU's different schools and programs:

    • School of Computer Science: 8.6%
    • Tepper School of Business: 14.8%

    • School of Design: 14.2%

    • Mellon College of Engineering: 12.5%
