    The first women's university in South-East Asia and India was founded in 1916 and is called Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey [SNDT] Women's University. It is situated in Mumbai, Maharashtra, and has 166 associated colleges dispersed among 3 campuses in additional 7 states. The university comprises 15 faculty members that provide 117 courses in a variety of fields, including UG and PG diplomas, UG and PG degrees, research, and doctoral degrees.The NAAC awarded an accreditation status of "A, " which the UGC acknowledged.
