    Yes, you need to take an entrance exam for admission to Allahabad University, depending on the course you're applying for: 

    Undergraduate (UG) courses

    Admission to UG courses is based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). 

    Postgraduate (PG) courses

    Admission to PG courses is based on the Post Graduate Admission Test (PGAT). 

    PhD courses

    Admission to PhD courses is based on the CRET entrance examination conducted by the university. However, candidates who have cleared UGC NET / CSIR NET or GATE are not required to appear for CRET.
