What is the admission process for B.Tech at Government College of Technology?

<p>Application shall be made in the prescribed form for admission to Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, B.Tech, as per the rules and regulations framed by Anna University to which this college is affiliated. The details are as follows:</p><p>1. Eligibility Criteria :<br>Higher Secondary Education (10+2) with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as subjects.<br>The minimum required is a percentage in the 12th standard, usually 50% for general category students. There are relaxations in marks for reserved categories as per Tamil Nadu state government norms.<br>2. Entrance Examination:<br>Admission is primarily based on marks secured through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA), which is a counseling process and not an entrance test. Ranking is based on the marks results in the 12th standard, especially in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.<br>Counseling is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamilnadu.<br>3. How to Apply :<br>The candidates are then required to register their academic details and preferences of colleges online for the TNEA counseling.<br>The candidates are then called for counseling based on the published rank list. In this process, they can opt for the GCT, Coimbatore depending upon their rank during counseling.<br>4. Counseling and Seat Allotment:<br>During counseling, the candidate, taking into account his ranks, has the opportunity to choose a course and college based on the availability of seat.<br>One can confirm admission once the seat is allotted, by paying the fee and submitting required documents.<br>5. Document Verification:<br>The documents detailing the allotment of the seat, among other important documents, will be verified at the verification centers or the allotted verification centers at the very college.<br>6. Final Admission:<br>After verification, the candidate will get an admission and can further join the college.</p>
