There is no use of 90% marks in class 10th. I got 97.5% marks in my class 10th boards, which still didn't help me, anywhere but good percentage in your class 12th can get you an edge over different students in various international universities and get scholarships.

It is a very subjective question. It solely depends on the kind of targets that you have set in your life. Nevertheless, 90% marks give you leverage in various competitive exams that will come in the future and also, will give you an upper hand over others, when it comes to selection processes.

It may not have any specific advantage in the initial process but at the time of placements some companies declare shortlist on the basis of the 10th,12th and graduation marks. So it's an added advantage.

10th and 12th marks are taken into consideration in the final admission procedure for XLRI. There are brackets for marks in 10th and 12th and points are allotted depending on which bracket your marks fall into.
