    If you are willing to join IAF after class 12th, then you need to give NDA exam, only then you can get admission in National Defense Academy. Otherwise, you can still can get the admission in Indian Air Force flying branch by various other ways like Short Service Commission, Combined Defense Service Examination, and National Cadet Crops. However, the basic eligibility criteria to get a job in IAF is different for different designations. Candidate applying for NDA should be between 17 years to 19 years, and for graduated student, it should be between 19 years to 23 years. Apart from that, you should be able to fly for the long hours. One can join the Indian Air Force as an officer in the flying, technical or the ground duty branches depending on his/her educational qualification. Details as follows: (a) Flying Branch: Recruitment to flying branch is by NDA and CDS examination conducted by UPSCIAF also hires pilot through AFCAT examination.     The job as a fighter in Indian Air Force is not easy task. You have to do hardcore work and efforts to get in.

    Hello,
    Indian Air Force recruits Indian Citizens as an officer or as an airman. Airmen are recruited after successful completion of the class 12th examination. The only exception is when musicians are to be recruited. So the age has been fixed as when an Indian can pass his 12th + two more years. Officers are recruited either after 12th or after graduation.     Opportunities to join Indian Airforce –
    1. NDA Exam-
    Aspirants who have just passed the 12th class, or are appearing in 12th class and have their ages in the range of 16 -19 years can apply for NDA examination.
