    The age criteria for a PhD in horticulture varies by exam and program:

    • ICAR AICE PhD (JRF/SRF) Exam: The minimum age to apply for this exam is 20 years old for Indian nationals. 
    • UGC NET exam: The age limit for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) is 31 years old as of January 1st of the exam year. There are age relaxations for reserved category candidates.
