Yes, there is a plan of lateral entry or Diploma to degree program for Diploma students to get entry into engineering or B.Tech/B.E.
A Diploma student can get entry into engineering courses directly into second year skipping the first year but for this you should have completed at least 3 years Diploma after class 10th or 1 year Diploma after class 12th.
