What is the average package of the cabin crew in India? Are there any additional perks that one can enjoy?

With all the new airlines starting up in India and with new government. Schemes such as UDAN and the entry of FDIs in India, the aviation industry is set to grow three times in the next decade. With the increase in the aviation business in India, even the job opportunities for aviation related jobs will grow exponentially. One such job is that of a cabin Crew. It is a glamourous job and at the same time it is very challenging as it does not just include serving hot food to the passengers, but also handle emergency situations as per the SOPs put in place by the airlines. A cabin crew can get a starting package from anywhere between 35k INR to 60K INR per month and the crew grows in seniority, the pay package keeps increasing. Along with the handsome salary, a cabin crew also enjoys numerous perks such as travelling the world, staying in five star hotels and enjoying expensive food free of cost. They are also eligible to get free flight tickets for their entire family.

Salary package for all the crew may it be cabin crew or cockpit crew varies from airline to airline. They are paid a certain amount as fixed pay and additional wages are given for the layover and long-haul flights. Experience also keeps adding to the pay for cabin crew. Starting pay is usually in the range of INR 35000 to 45000. At present Vistara Airline is paying the most, although the variation from it's immediate followers in pay is merely 3-4K. Jet Airways is almost at par with Vistara in paying. Followed by Air India and Indigo. In Jet Airways and Air India, the crew gets additional pays for long-haul flights and layover flights to international destinations. For the Red Eye flights, additional pay is given. Note: Red Eye flights are those which depart between 0100 to 0400 IST time. Hence, you may expect a minimum monthly of 40-45K as your salary, which may grow up to 1.5 lakhs per month.

Hello, Cabin crew are the people who come in contact with guests flying in the aircraft of the career. So one can say that these people are the contact points of the airlines with people who actual pay the airlines. Hence all companies make sure that this first experience is best for the customer. This only ensures repeat passengers and keeps cash flow of airlines intact.Cabin crew gets paid a decent salary package of around Rs.5-6 L per annum. Besides they get to see different places as they fly. If it's domestic career then Indian cities or if it's international career then different countries. They get passes for their families to travel also which is a big incentive. Other than these, there are innumerable perks which are offered like insurance, paid leave, possibility of buying duty-free goods etc. All in all financial side there are no worries for the cabin crew.

On an average, first officer earns Rs 2.61 lakh for flying 50 hours. He can earn Rs 3.3 lakh if he logs in 90 hours of flying time. For a senior officer, the salary will be Rs 3.75 lakh a month for 70 hours, going up to Rs 4.3 lakh for 90 hours. An IndiGo captain will now earn Rs 6.01 lakh every month for 70 hours of flying and over Rs 7 lakh for 90 hours. The starting salary of a crew ranges between Rs.15,000 to Rs. 30,000 for flying not more than 72 hours in a month. The salaries keep increasing as seniority keeps increasing, going up to Rs. 75,000 a month. Cabin crew is really one amongst the high-paying jobs in India. But how much salary you will get will entirely depend upon your past experience, qualification, and your ratings. On the average, the starting salary for freshers could be anything between 30,000/- to 35,000/- in India which is all good from fresher's perspectives. But apart from getting paid, you can enjoy some additional benefits. Travel and see many places, while you get paid for it. Free or discounted airline tickets for you, your family and friends. Limited hours of monthly flying. International medical insurance. Paid annual vacation. Free premium accommodation and transportation. Discount on duty-free shopping at major airports across the world and many more. But this field is also demands something from you. This is a job in which employees care about the airline's passenger in the aeroplanes. They give better hospitality, ensure passenger safety and comfort. Yes, there is a salary variation in this job. One with more experience, high rating by the passenger, well qualified get a more paid job with respect to other cabin crew. The average salary of a cabin crew is Rs 5-6 LPA. As they are the cabin crew, they should be in the aeroplane during the take-off so they can regularly fly from one city to other and if anyone is the cabin crew of international airlines then they fly from one country to another. Yes, they get vacation package also for the tour to any other country with their family on a regular basis. Crew members get medical insurance and care and discount on shopping on necessary items. So, the cabin crew is really an enjoying job profile in which people get paid for travelling from one place to another.

In India, your package would start somewhere around 6-7 lakhs P.A, and gradually it might increase with your basic salary. If you love to travel and enjoy staying at different hotels along with having different cuisines then this is the most appropriate job for you. It's not like the regular 9 to 7 job. Your reporting time for your work would change depending upon your rosters which would be given to you at a planned stage. You would meet different kinds of people every day, and it will be a life-changing experience altogether.
