In order to pursue a PhD you need to first prepare your research proposal and send it to the university. In your proposal you need to write the topic, reason for doing research, how the research will be beneficial and how is it different from other researches. Also, you need to mention how you will progress during the research and the duration you might need to achieve the milestones you have set. Also, I would like to say that education in Germany is government funded so there is a possibility that your complete research might can sponsored or you might have to give a minimal fee of 140-500 euros.

Hi,
Germany is one of the finest study destination to pursue Phd in Chemistry and related fields.
It may take three to six years to complete your PHD, depending on the field you select and your mentor.
The general eligibility criteria for PHD students are as follows:
In majority of the institutes, Master's Degree is an essential pre-requisite for a Ph.D.
It is important that you have good scores in common entrance tests such as GRE and English Language examinations like TOEFL or IELTS.
Internships or other work experience will add to your qualifications
