The best time to start IAS preparation is as soon as you decide to appear in this exam. Ideally, if you are doing a Bachelor's degree course, you can start preparing for this exam immediately. As general category candidates, you have only six attempts; therefore, you need to be well prepared from the first attempt itself. The age limit for this exam is 32 years; therefore, you need to start preparing at least 3 years before you reach your age limit. Many IAS aspirants have a common doubt that what is the right age to start preparing for Civil Services Examination (IAS). There is no perfect age to start preparing for the IAS. But mostly the IAS aspirants start their preparation right after their graduation at the age of 21 or 22 years. I have also seen aspirant who have cleared the exam at age of 31 in their 1st attempt.
