Hi as you are in 12th and want to be an IAS, and I would suggest you go for B.A. You would be glad to know that UPES Dehradun has started offering graduate program incorporated with IAS coaching i.e BA in Public Administration with civil services coaching and tests preparation embedded. This program provides knowledge of economics, public finance, research methods, public policy, leadership, strategy. The program equips the students with knowledge and skills covering broad range disciplines and topic of public sector. While pursuing your BA (Public Policy & Administration) you can take Public Administration as your specialization areas

    Hi
To prepare for IAS, you need to focus on the following points :
    1. Keep enhancing your GK.
    2. Read newspapers regularly particularly 'The Hindu'.
    3. Do extensive studies of your chosen subjects (optionals).
    4. Take time to discuss with fellow students & teachers.
    5. Take study material from a reputed coaching centre or better still join one for 4 to 6 months course.
    6. Give mock test to judge yourself from time to time.
    7. Be focused on your studies & have confidence.
Hope this helps. Please feel free to revert. Click on the thumbs up, if you found this useful.
    Wish You Luck!
