IBPS PO has an excellent career path, and career growth is determined based on merit.
IBPS PO is a scale I officer (assistant manager) and normally becomes a manager (scale II officer) after 34 years. Promotion happens through a written exam and interview. From bank to bank, there is a slight variation in the time and process of promotion, but fast-track promotion opportunities are there in almost every bank. Being a generalist, the PO gets the opportunity to work in various areas like operations, credit, foreign exchange, investment banking, risk management, auditing, etc.
Banks conduct internal exams for postings in investment banking
