    The career growth of a Railway Protection Force (RPF) Sub Inspector (SI) is based on two main criteria. The criteria are work experience and performance, and inter-department.  The career growth hierarchy for an RPF SI is as follows: Sub-Inspector, Inspector, Circle Inspector, Zonal Inspector, and Deputy Superintendent. The RPF SI exam is conducted annually by the Ministry of Railways.
