    The purpose of JEE Main and JEE-Advance are to give admission to students in Ist year of B.Tech courses in NITs, CFTIs and IITs on the basis of ranks they obtained in above entrance exams. JEE Main is the preliminary exam for admission in NITs and CFTIs. While JEE Advanced is conducted among the top 2.45 Lacs qualifiers of JEE Main. The basic eligibility criteria in addition to JEE Main and Advance for admission in NITs, CFTIs and IITs is 75% aggregate marks at 10+2 level for general and OBCs while 65% for SC/ST.
