After working as a clerk for at least two years, candidates may apply for promotions. Seniority and merit are used to determine promotions (with or without JAIIB and CAIIB). Below are the tiers of promotion:

    Level 1: Assistant Manager

    Level 2: Manager

    Level 3: Senior Manager

    Level 4: Cheif Manager

    Level 5: Assistant General Manager

Based on the performance of candidates, they are eligible for promotion after two years. There are two process through which candidates get promotion. Candidates who get promoted through the normal process are not required to appear for JAIIB and CAIIB diplomas. They are promoted based on their experience, seniority and performance in the written exam which is conducted internally. For merit-based promotion, candidates are require to have JAIIB and CAIIB diplomas from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance.
