What is the criteria to become a mathematician? Is there any scope after this?

Hi, To become a mathematician, one must really get a Ph.D. As such, my advice would be to take as many electives in mathematics as you can, e. g. real analysis, topology, abstract algebra. Please refer the link below to know more about the scope of Mathematicians and Statisticians:
