Cut off is for Institutes. Some other Institutes accept XAT scores and it will depend on which institutes you have applied to

And the best way to judge the credential is to: *Make a list of the colleges for which you meet the required score of XAT. *Select the ones which meet your set criterion like funds. *Select the best which fits in the kitty of above mentioned parameters. I believe that major concern is always with the placements, for the same, I would say that whichever college you may opt for, apart from the assistance from the placement team you need to make your own efforts as no institute can guarantee you that as it entirely depends on your capabilities and utilization of skills at the right time.
