    2 dimensional animations deals more with drawing and framing and is the base of 3D animation. 2D animators create frames to define a sequence that are then moved at varying speeds to create the illusion of motion.3D or three-dimensional animation has more depth and is more realistic The texture, lighting and color of the 3D objects are modified using software programs Film, advertising, video and gaming are the fast growing fields for 3D animation.

    Comparison between 2D and 3D.
    2D and 3D refer to the actual dimensions in a computer workspace. 2D is 'flat', using the horizontal and vertical (X and Y) dimensions, the image has only two dimensions and if turned to the side becomes a line. 3D adds the depth (Z) dimension.
    If you really want to excel in 3D, I suggest you should also learn 2D, it will really help.
