    The difference between a Polytechnic and a university:
    Polytechnics are generally predetermined for engineering courses and are well-equipped for this. If you prefer engineering courses such as electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, etc., your best bet should be polytechnics. Polytechnics are usually well-equipped for these courses in terms of practice. National Diploma in Polytechnic Graduates can start working with the National Diploma before proceeding to the HND (Higher National Diploma) level.     Universities are broader in approach, and teach subjects with an emphasis on imparting basic knowledge with a lot of theoretical aspect with a little bit of projects work and lab assignments. University give the long courses duration. On the other hand, polytechnics are more practical in their approach, and take up smaller courses that are industry specific and not taught in universities. They give short duration as Compared to the university.
