Dear Pranav, Aeronautical engineering is a part of aerospace engineering. They both are equal in importance so that we can't say which is better. Though both appear to be the same, there is a difference. The two types of aerospace engineers include aeronautical engineers (they work with aircraft that stay within the earth's atmosphere such as aeroplanes and helicopters) and aerospace engineers (they work with the aircraft that operates outside of the earth's atmosphere such as rockets, satellites, and other and spacecraft). A degree in aerospace engineering should cover them both. LPU offers a B.Tech degree in Aerospace Engineering. LP...more

Hello!
A degree in aerospace engineering and a degree in aeronautical engineering both prepare students to design aircraft. In fact, aeronautical engineering is a branch of aerospace engineering. Though the two degree programs teach similar engineering principles, there is a critical distinction between designing for air and space. Aeronautical engineering is actually a type of aerospace engineering, which is split into two main areas:
Aeronautical: Relates to machines that fly within the earths atmosphere, such as planes. Astronautical: Relates to spacecraft such as rockets, space stations and shuttles. My brother has done Aerospace en...more
