AICTE stands for All India Council of Technical Education. AIU stands for All Indian Universities. They are the statutory bodies that describe the recognition of degrees. AICTE accreditation is required for technical degrees like Engineering, MBA and PGDM.
Whereas, AIU is an external government body, which also recognize the awarding quality of education of the related university. Mostly, AICTE is considered for professional degrees and AIU promotes for non-technical degrees like B.Com and BA.
