Difference of architectural interiors and interior design
People commonly mix up these two professions: architecture and interior design since they both have similar work profiles that require design. However, the difference lies in that an interior designer designs the interior of a building while an architect designs the building's exterior.

The main difference between an interior designer and an architect lies in their education and training. An architect is trained in creating a structural building that meets national, state and local building codes. An interior designer is trained in creating a functional and quality interior environment.

    Hi,
There is vast difference between the two fields. An Architect designs spaces and entire buildings whereas interior designers scale is reduced to arrangement of spaces inside the building. An Architect has to undergo B.Arch degree as minimum qualification whereas an interior designer has to undergo B.Sc interior design as minimum qualification.

Comparing an Architect to an Interior Designer
The primary difference between them centers on what they design. Architects design buildings, while interior designers use furniture, fixtures and other accessories to create a desired look and function for spaces inside a building. Architects and interior designers rely on some of the same skills to develop their design plans, but they use their skills to perform different design functions.
