What is the difference between an interior architect and an interior designer?

Hi lalit,
An Interior architect is general terms is the one responsible for the basic design of the Building, whereas the interior designer is more concerned with the interior ambiance.
An Architect :
-undergoes a rigorous education, which includes higher mathematics and drafting.
-Usually undergo internships before going out into the world.
-They must possess an understanding of a buildings basic structures.Most importantly an architect is responsible for the integrity and soundness of the buildings.

An interior architect can be an interior designer, but it will not work the other way as the main difference between an interior designer and an architect lies in their education and training. An architect is trained in creating a structural building that meets national, state and local building codes. An interior designer is trained in creating a functional and quality interior environment.

There is nothing called as Interior Architect. An Architect can do interior designs also. An interior designer scale is reduced to just arrangement of spaces inside a built environment.
