    Hello Laxman,
An atom is just that, a single atom, made from protons, neutrons and electrons. A molecule is a group of atoms bonded together via ionic, metallic or covalent bonding.

    Hello Laxman,
A particular atom will have the same number of protons and electrons and most atoms have at least as many neutrons as protons. An element is a substance that is made entirely from one type of atom. Atoms are basic building blocks of any matter. Combination of these atoms are molecules.
For example, A single helium (symbol He) atom is capable of independent existence so Helium is a molecule as well as an atom. A molecule may consist of atoms of a single chemical element such as with Helium (He), or of different elements, as with water (H2O - Hydrogen and Oxygen) which is called a compound.
