Both are undergraduate degrees, but Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) is completely different from BDes because of the following reasons:

| Eligibility | Class 12 in any stream from a recognized board or Diploma in Design recognized. | Class 12 with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) |
| Core Subjects | Colour Theory and Techniques, Furniture Design, Model Making, etc. | Architecture Design, Building construction, History of architecture, Architectural Drawing, etc. |
