Some key differences between both the courses are given in the table below:

    Features

BE (Full Form: Bachelor of Engineering)

B.Tech (Full Form: Bachelor of Technology)

    Focus

More emphasis on theoretical knowledge and engineering principles.

Leans towards practical applications and industry-oriented skills.

    Syllabus

Strong foundation in core engineering subjects, with some flexibility in electives.

Focuses on a specific engineering discipline with a blend of theoretical and practical coursework, especially in the final year.

    Projects and Labs

Fewer hands-on projects and labs compared to BTech programs. More of theory classes.

Places greater emphasis on projects, workshops, internship experiences and practical applications.

    Duration

    Typically 4 years.

The usual course duration is 4 years.

    Eligibility

Similar to BTech eligibility requirements (10+2 with minimum marks in Science stream).

May have slightly stricter eligibility criteria compared to BE programs. Candidates require PCM subjects in Class 12.

    BTech Scope

Opens doors to various engineering fields, but may require additional training for specific industry job profiles.

Prepares graduates for specific technical roles within their chosen engineering discipline with good salary packages.
